Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a paramedic to provide ALS emergency medical care and comprehensive pre-hospital assessments in Georgia. The role requires valid paramedic licensure, BLS/ACLS, and a clean driving record, with duties including rapid patient assessment, medication administration, and advanced airway management.

You will operate emergency vehicles, document care accurately, and coordinate with receiving facilities.

Qualifications

• Current, active Georgia Paramedic License issued by the Georgia Office of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma required and must be maintained without lapse.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required and must be maintained without lapse.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License required, with driving record meeting policy requirements.
• Must meet organizational criminal background screening and licensure verification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced life support (ALS) emergency medical care per EMS protocols and medical direction.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments including airway, breathing, circulation, neurological status, and vital signs.
• Administer medications, perform advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, and defibrillation as authorized.
• Ensure safe patient handling, movement, and transport with proper body mechanics and infection prevention.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely and in compliance with policies and laws.
• Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation and treatment records.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare providers, and receiving facilities.
• Maintain readiness of vehicles, equipment, and supplies and report deficiencies.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and teamwork, supporting a culture of safety and accountability.
• Participate in required training, continuing education, and quality improvement activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
