Job summary

Sevier County Emergency Medical Services is seeking a Paramedic to provide advanced life support (ALS) and patient transport in response to a wide range of medical calls. You'll work as part of a two-person team, respond to dispatched incidents, assess patients, and administer life-saving treatment.

You will operate ALS equipment, document care, maintain vehicle readiness, and coordinate with receiving facilities and medical control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Paramedic certification issued by the State of Tennessee.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Ability to pass a physical and drug screen.
• Valid Class D Tennessee driver license with an F endorsement.
• Ability to work extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Responds promptly and safely to dispatched emergency and non-emergency calls following EMS protocols.
• Assesses scenes and patient conditions to determine ALS care and transport.
• Provides ALS treatment including airway management, cardiac monitoring, IV/IO therapy, medications, and vital sign monitoring.
• Operates ALS equipment and vehicles; maintains readiness and cleanliness.
• Completes patient care reports and documents treatments, transport, and insurance details.
• Maintains communication with dispatch and medical control during shifts.
• Performs non-emergency transports as assigned.
