Job summary

Great River Health is seeking a certified paramedic to deliver advanced pre-hospital care and transport patients in Iowa. The role requires 1–3 years of EMS experience, a valid driver's license, and current paramedic licensure (IDPH). Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP are required at hire or within specified timelines.

Qualifications

1-3 years' EMS experience (required).
Driver's license required at hire.
National Paramedic licensure required at hire.
Paramedic licensure by IDPH (US) required at hire.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required at hire.
NRP certification within 1.5 years.

Responsibilities

Administer drugs via all routes under physician supervision.
Provide pre-hospital first-aid and life-support care.
Assess illness/injury and prioritize procedures.
Attend trainings to maintain certification and knowledge.
Communicate with dispatch and treatment centers for instructions.
Coordinate with EMS and police/fire responders.
Operate EKGs, defibrillators, and airway management equipment.
Maintain ambulances and equipment; restock supplies.
