Job summary

Melrose/Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA seeks a Paramedic to provide advanced emergency medical care and patient transport. The role requires coordination with physicians, nursing staff, and EMS to determine treatment plans and ensure safe transfers.

Minimum qualifications include accredited Paramedic program completion, NREMT Paramedic, Massachusetts Paramedic, BLS and ACLS certification, and a valid MA driver’s license. Full-time with rotating day/evening shifts and on-site duties.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Paramedic program.
• Certified Paramedic by National Registry of EMTs.
• Massachusetts Certified Paramedic.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Valid State issued driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation and transfer of patients using ambulatory assist, wheelchair, stretcher, ambulance or scoop stretcher.
• Performs detailed assessments, diagnostic tests, administers treatments, monitors infusions, and makes recommendations.
• Prepares patients for transport and monitors patient to maintain stability.
• Administers skilled care during transport and follows online medical direction when needed.
• Complies with health, safety and privacy regulations and uses safety equipment.
• Completes patient charts and documents via EPIC.
• Maintains supplies and stocks areas and prepares trays as used.
• Works with physicians, EMS, and nursing staff to coordinate care.
