Tufts Medicine’s Melrose/Wakefield Hospital is seeking a Paramedic for the Emergency Unit. The role focuses on providing advanced emergency medical care, on-site aid, patient transport, and collaboration with physicians and nurses.

Full-time, 36 hours weekly, day/evening shift 11am-11pm, with every other weekend and holiday rotation. Minimum qualifications include accredited Paramedic program, NREMT, MA paramedic, BLS, ACLS, and a valid driver's license.

• Completion of accredited Paramedic program.
• Certified Paramedic by National Registry of EMTs.
• Massachusetts Certified Paramedic.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Valid State issued driver's license.

Mansioni

• Provides transportation and transfer of patients using ambulatory assist, wheelchair, stretcher, ambulance or scoop stretcher/backboard.
• Performs detailed assessments, diagnostic tests, administers treatments, monitors infusions and makes recommendations for patient care.
• Prepares patients for transport and clinically monitors patient to maintain stability.
• Administers skilled care to patients being transported and follows clinical protocols and orders.
• Complies with health, safety and privacy regulations and uses safety equipment.
• Maintains supplies and assists with discharge planning and documentation.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses and EMS personnel and participates in team care.
• Performs clerical duties related to labs, x-ray, EKGs and procedures as needed.
• Operates within EMT scope, including intubation and advanced interventions under ED physician direction.

Completion of accredited Paramedic program
