Job summary

Melrose/Wakefield Hospital seeks a Paramedic to provide advanced emergency medical care and patient transport. You will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to determine treatments and care plans, and assist with discharge planning and documentation using EPIC.

This is a full-time role with a 36-hour weekly schedule on a 11am-11pm shift, including every other weekend and holiday rotation. Minimum qualifications include accredited Paramedic program completion, National Registry and

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Paramedic program.
• National Registry Paramedic certification.
• Massachusetts Paramedic certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation and transfer of patients using ambulatory assist, wheelchair, stretcher, ambulance or scoop stretcher/backboard.
• Performs assessments, administers treatments, monitors infusions, and makes recommendations for patient care.
• Prepares patients for transport and monitors stability during transport.
• Administers medications per policy as ordered by ED physician.
• Assists with intubation and invasive lines under ED physician supervision.
• Completes patient charts and documentation using EPIC.
