Job summary

Randolph County (NC) is seeking an Emergency Services Training Officer to lead the in-house Paramedic Academy, plan curricula, schedule training, and maintain trainee records while guiding quality audits. You will coordinate instructors, provide classroom and field instruction across topics like cardiology, OB/GYN, stroke and pharmacology, and compile detailed reports on performance.

Requirements include an Associate degree with 3–5 years in Emergency Services, NC EMS Level II Instructor

Qualifications

• Associates Degree and 3–5 years EMS experience.
• NC EMS Level II Instructor certification required within one year of employment.
• Strong instructional and organizational skills.
• Ability to work shifts on the ambulance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, prepare, coordinate, and institute all essential elements of an in-house Paramedic Academy to meet NC EMS requirements.
• Prepare, select, assemble, and distribute educational information and material to employees.
• Coordinate a quality management system to schedule random audits on the Paramedic Academy and its trainees.
• Provide educational instruction to students and select instructors for focal topics (cardiology, OB/GYN, Stroke, Burns, Pharmacology, etc.).
• Compile and analyze quality management data to produce detailed activity and performance reports.
• Maintain electronic employee training records and assist with re-credentialing preparation.
• Assist with local and state testing requirements and scheduling reviews with the Medical Director.
• Coordinate annual scope-of-practice testing, workshops, and classes.
• Perform Emergency Management duties during activations and events; work ambulance shifts as required.
• Assist the Training Coordinator and uphold Randolph County safety standards.
