Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking Paramedics who are passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care. You will respond to 911 calls, lead scenes, and collaborate with public safety teams to provide top-tier EMS.

The role requires a State Paramedic License, a valid Driver’s License, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NREMT-Paramedic). A physical agility test and healthcare experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • State Paramedic License required.
  • State Driver’s License required.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NREMT-Paramedic certifications required.
  • Driving record compliant with company policy.
  • Pass Physical Agility Test.
  • Some healthcare work experience preferred.

  • Work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
  • Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.

  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.

  • Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.

  • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.

  • Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.

  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.

  • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.

  • Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.


Minimum Required Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • State Paramedic License

  • State Driver’s License

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NREMT-Paramedic

  • Driving record compliant with company policy

  • Pass Physical Agility Test

  • Some work experience, preferably healthcare


Other Qualifications:


  • Must be able to successfully pass Physical Agility Test

  • Aptitudes required for work of this nature are good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times.

  • Must be able to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects.
