Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Paramedic to provide advanced EMS care and transport in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings. You will rapidly assess scenes, treat critical patients, and document care while operating emergency vehicles safely.

Strong clinical skills, calm under pressure, and compassionate communication are required to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate with six months paramedic experience with an accredited EMS agency or Fire Department.
• California Paramedic certification upon hire.
• CPR and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement program and safety standards.
• Performs patient systems assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner.
• Enters patient data into computerized patient care reporting system so there are no deficiencies.
• Performs direct patient care and implements patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner while administering medications and performing procedures consistent with EMT certification.
• Administers medications and performs procedures consistent with Paramedic certification and selected S-SV EMS treatment protocols.
• Participates in problem identification and patient care planning.
