Job summary

Dignity Health's Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley, CA seeks an EMT-Paramedic to provide frontline patient care in an outpatient setting. You will perform intake, vital signs, allergy/medication verification, and document visits with strict adherence to clinic workflows.

You will also collect specimens, administer meds and vaccines, prepare rooms, and complete safety checklists while escalating issues as needed to support safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and California EMT-Paramedic certification required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications as listed in requirements.
• CA driver's license and ambulance driver accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential intake procedures, including vital signs and documenting visit reasons.
• Obtain and verify allergies/medications; collect specimens as needed.
• Administer medications and vaccines per orders; ensure safety protocols.
• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments and maintain clean environment.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our EMT, you will perform essential general patient care, meticulously following established clinic workflows to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery within an outpatient setting. Every day you will complete comprehensive patient intake duties, including obtaining vital signs, verifying allergies and medications, and documenting reasons for visits. You'll also collect and prepare specimens, administer ordered medications and vaccines, clean and sterilize instruments, ensure exam room readiness, and meticulously complete safety checklists, escalating any non-routine issues promptly. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care, efficiency, and safety, adeptly managing all intake processes and supporting clinical operations. Your ability to meticulously follow protocols, maintain a clean and stocked environment, and proactively address concerns will be crucial for exceptional patient experiences.

• The EMT-Paramedic competently and consistently performs the following the skills to Hospital standard
• Reviews admission assessment with the R.N. or physician as evidenced by appropriate documentation in the nurses notes
• Informs the nurse/physician of any abnormal patient findings and/or potential problems which are identified
• Provides patient assessments with consideration of age-specific criteria
• Accurately completes run reports in a timely manner
• Handles patient's physical and emotional needs within the scope of practice, carrying out orders from the base hospital physician
