Job summary

The Nashville Fire Department is seeking a Paramedic to provide advanced emergency medical care to ill or injured patients and to accompany them during transport to medical facilities.

Candidates must be at least 21, hold a Tennessee Paramedic License, meet NFPA Medical Standards, have a valid driver license, and be prepared to obtain ACLS and either BLTS or PHTLS within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Tennessee Paramedic license required.
• Must meet NFPA Medical Standards.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLTS or PHTLS certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and specialized emergency medical care to the sick, injured, and/or critically ill.
• Transport patients to medical facilities when required.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Job description

This position is located with the Nashville Fire Department (NFD) and provides efficient and specialized emergency medical care to the sick, injured, and/or critically ill when required, and during transportation to medical facilities. Performs related duties as required.

Must meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Medical Standards.

Must be twenty one (21) years of age.

LICENSES REQUIRED

• Valid Driver License
• Licensed by the State of Tennessee as a Paramedic
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Certification in Basic Trauma Life Support (BLTS) or Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) (within the first six (6) months of employment).
