Job summary

Rampart EMS in Escanaba, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Paramedic to deliver high‑quality emergency medical services across the region. You will respond to calls, stabilize scenes, and provide advanced life support from the field to the hospital.

The role requires Michigan paramedic certification, BLS‑HCP, ACLS, and a proactive, calm demeanor under pressure. A sign‑on bonus is offered and benefits apply for full-time staff.

Qualifications

  • MDHHS approved Paramedic course completion and Michigan paramedic licensure.
  • BLS‑HCP, ACLS, PALS certifications are required or preferred.
  • ITLS or PHTLS, NRP and CEVO or VFIS Driver Training are preferred.
  • 6+ months EMS field experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency medical service calls and provide patient care as directed.
  • Safely navigate the ambulance to the patient’s location and stabilize the scene.
  • Determine illness/injury nature and collect patient history from available sources.
  • Administer EMS care including stabilization, monitoring and resuscitation.
  • Report observations to supervising medical personnel and follow directives.
  • Maintain and restock equipment and clean the ambulance as needed.

Job Type: Full‑time • Schedule: 12‑hour varied shifts • Sign‑on bonus: $2,000

How You’ll Contribute
  • Respond to emergency medical service calls and provide patient care as directed.
  • Safely navigate the ambulance to the patient’s location, stabilizing the scene and requesting additional assistance as needed.
  • Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury and patient history from available sources.
  • Administer emergency medical care within the scope of practice, including stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation from the scene to the receiving medical facility.
  • Contact medical personnel, report observations, and follow directives from a supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.
  • Maintain equipment, restock supplies, and clean the ambulance as necessary.

What We’re Looking For
  • Successfully completed MDHHS approved Paramedic course and hold a valid Paramedic License in Michigan.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and self‑propelled work in minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license.
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Preferred.
  • Trauma Course (ITLS or PHTLS) – Preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) – Preferred.
  • Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), VFIS Driver Training, or equivalent – Preferred.
  • At least 6 months field experience in EMS – Preferred.
