Job summary

Lifepoint Health seeks an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for Rampart in Escanaba, MI. This full-time role requires completion of an MDHHS approved EMT course and a valid Michigan driver’s license. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an MDHHS approved EMT course.
• Must hold a valid Michigan driver’s license.
• BLS-HCP certification required; additional certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely navigate ambulance to patient’s location and stabilize scene.
• Determine nature and extent of illness or injury and patient history from available sources.
• Provide emergency medical care within scope of practice, including stabilization and transport to receiving facility.
• Communicate observations to medical personnel and follow directives from supervising clinician.
• Maintain equipment, restock supplies and clean ambulances as necessary.

How You'll Contribute

• Safely navigates ambulance to patient's location. Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.

• Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
• Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.

What We're Looking For

An applicant who has successfully completed MDHHS approved EMT course and has a valid Michigan driver's license.

Additional Requirements Include

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) (Preferred)
• Trauma Course (ITLS or PHTLS) (Preferred)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) (Preferred)
• Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), VFIS Driver Training, or equivalent (preferred)
• 6 months field experience in EMS (preferred)
