Rampart EMS (Escanaba) Paramedic role in Escanaba, MI is a full-time opportunity offering 12-hour varied shifts and a $2,000 sign-on bonus. You will respond to emergencies, stabilize patients, and transport to receiving facilities while adhering to scope of practice and supervising directives.

We seek a Paramedic with MDHHS-approved coursework and Michigan licensure, BLS-HCP, ACLS, and preferred PALS/ITLS or PHTLS. Join a team delivering high-quality patient care across the UP region.

Qualifications

• Must have MDHHS approved Paramedic course and Michigan license.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a high-stress EMS environment and take appropriate action.
• Valid Michigan driver's license and current BLS-HCP/ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency calls and provides patient care as directed or required.
• Safely navigates ambulance, stabilizes scenes, and requests support as needed.
• Determines nature of illness/injury and patient history from available sources.
• Administers emergency care, stabilizes, monitors, and transports to facility.
• Documents observations and follows directives from supervising medical staff.
• Maintains equipment, restocks supplies, and cleans the ambulance.

How you'll contribute

A Paramedic who excels in this role:

• Responds to calls for emergency medical services and provides patient care as directed and/or determined necessary.
• Safely navigates ambulance to patient's location. Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources.
• Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
• Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.
• Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.

What we're looking for

A Paramedic must Successfully complete MDHHS approved Paramediccourse and have a Paramedic License in the state or Michigan. Additional requirements include:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Valid Michigan driver's license
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred)
• Trauma Course (ITLS or PHTLS) (Preferred)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) (Preferred)
• Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), VFIS Driver Training, or equivalent (preferred)
• 6 months field experience in EMS (Preferred)
