Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette in Marquette, MI, is seeking an experienced Paramedic to join our EMS team. You will respond to calls, stabilize patients, transport to appropriate facilities, and coordinate with medical staff to provide high-quality care.

The role requires completion of an MDHHS approved Paramedic course, a Michigan Paramedic license, and current BLS-HCP; ACLS, PALS are preferred. Applicants should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to work varied 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete MDHHS approved Paramedic course and have a Michigan Paramedic License.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid Michigan driver's license.
• BLS-HCP, ACLS; PALS (preferred).
• ITLS / PHTLS (preferred).
• NRP (preferred).
• CEVO or VFIS Driver Training (preferred).
• 6 months field EMS experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls for emergency medical services and provides patient care as directed and/or determined necessary.
• Safely navigates ambulance to patient's location; stabilizes scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient’s history from available sources.
• Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation.
• Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or RN.
• Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.
