Job summary

Duane Morris LLP seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in a fast-paced environment in Miami, FL. You will assist with depositions, witness prep, and research, collaborating closely with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

The role requires strong writing, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and long hours as needed.

Qualifications

• ABA-approved paralegal certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis to assist drafting and revising court papers and exhibits.
• Draft and revise routine legal documents for attorney review.
• Prepare draft discovery requests and responses.
• Categorize data and review reports from opposing counsel.
• Coordinate requests between parties via client and attorney communications.
• Assist with calendaring court dates, hearings, and court reporters.
• Electronically file documents in State and Federal Courts and ADR forums.
• Prepare hearing and deposition materials and ensure timely client-billing records.
• Maintain confidentiality of attorney-client communications.
• Attend trials/hearings as needed and support trial teams.

Overview:

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal who has experience working in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Works closely with attorneys, assisting in depositions, witness preparation, and research. The ideal candidate must have strong collaboration and task coordination skills, with the ability to quickly shift priorities within short notice.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct research and analysis necessary to assist attorneys with drafting and revising court papers and exhibits.
• Draft and revise routine legal documents for attorney review and approval.
• Compile and prepare draft discovery requests and responses.
• Categorize and interpret data; review and analyze reports, responses and records produced by opposing counsel.
• Coordinate requests between multiple parties involved in litigation by way of consistent communication with client and attorneys through end of case.
• Assist with calendaring court dates, scheduling hearings, and arranging for court reporters.
• Electronically file legal case documents in State and Federal Courts and ADR and Admin forums.
• Prepare hearing and deposition materials.
• Appropriately and on a timely basis, record work to be billed to clients.
• Maintain good public relations with clients; observe confidentiality of attorney/client relationship.
• Work requires more than 37.5 hour per week from time to time to perform the essential duties of the position; may require irregular hours.
• Work closely with administrative support staff.Maintains a team orientation towards work.
• Prepare all necessary materials needed for jury and non-jury trials.
• Attend trials and hearings as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven working experience as a Litigation Paralegal.
• Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to details.
• Extensive knowledge of court rules, practices and procedures.
• Possess high level of technical competency on all Microsoft Office and various other job-related software packages and applications.This includes Adobe Acrobat, Milana, Relativity, Excel, InTapp (or other paralegal time entry system)
• Possess strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate successfully with team, clients, and court personnel either in person, by phone or e-mail.

Education and Experience:

• ABA-approved paralegal certification with a focus on litigation preferred
