Job summary

HilltopSecurities in Dallas, TX seeks a detail-oriented Paralegal to support the Legal Department in managing legal matters, subpoenas, contracts, and research. The role requires independent work, sound judgment, and strict confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

You will draft correspondence, review documents, and assist attorneys with regulatory inquiries, governance matters, and audits, using traditional and AI-powered tools to gather information and organize records.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of paralegal or related legal experience.
• Experience handling subpoenas, contracts, and litigation support preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted legal research tools is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare responses to subpoenas, regulatory requests, garnishments, and other legal information requests.
• Gather, review, organize, and analyze records and documents required for subpoena and litigation-related matters.
• Draft correspondence, response letters, legal memoranda, and other legal documents for attorney review.
• Review contracts, non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and other legal documents to identify legal, operational, and compliance issues.
• Conduct legal, regulatory, and factual research using traditional and AI-assisted research tools.
• Summarize legal matters, investigations, and contract provisions for attorneys and business stakeholders.
• Maintain and organize legal files, records, and document repositories in accordance with company policies.
• Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry developments and provide updates to legal staff.
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain information necessary for legal reviews and subpoena responses.
• Analyze data and documentation to support legal and compliance inquiries.
• Assist attorneys with special projects, audits, litigation support, and corporate governance matters.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
