Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a Paralegal to assist attorneys with research, depositions, trial preparation, discovery, and document drafting for submission to court within the law division. The role involves interviewing clients in court, coordinating witnesses, and supporting briefs and trial materials while maintaining the litigation docket and deadlines.

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of related experience are required; Certified Paralegal preferred and background checks

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a job related field.
• Two (2) years job related experience.
• Certified Paralegal preferred; knowledge of online legal research services; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, orders, and discovery requests; manage court documents.
• Interview clients in court to collect information and explain the court process.
• Assist with preparation of briefs and trial materials.
• Coordinate collection, review of witness files, and gather reports from experts.
• Draft deposition questions and coordinate discovery to provide relevant information to opposing party.
• Maintain litigation docket, calendar, and repository for current court rulings; track deadlines.
