Job summary

United States Attorneys' Offices in Nevada seeks a Paralegal Specialist in the Financial Litigation Program. You will join a team responsible for restitution collection and returning funds to federal programs, working with AUSAs, law enforcement, and others in the financial litigation group.

Responsibilities expand with training and experience; the role requires handling debt matters, drafting legal documents, and supporting complex case workflows in a federal setting.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in paralegal or legal work with knowledge of legal research and ability to interpret legal decisions.
• Educations: J.D./LL.B or Master’s or higher or 2 years of grad education.
• Combination of education & experience acceptable when totaling 100% requirements.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing criminal judgment and commitment orders.
• Drafting a variety of substantive legal documents.
• Conducting interviews of debtors, employers, and agency officials.
• Preparing and maintaining case and trial-related documents.
• Processing debt collection claims referred from client agencies.
• Serving as contact person for Financial Litigation cases.
• Monitoring progress of pending cases.
• Independently plan and conduct asset investigations and prepare reports.
