Job summary

The University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a Paralegal in the Office of the General Counsel to provide paralegal support for attorneys serving the University Park (UPC) campus and the USC Health System. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of matters across departments.

The position will involve handling litigation, subpoenas, regulatory filings and contracts, and collaborating with internal teams and outside counsel on special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• 4 years of progressively responsible paralegal or related legal experience.
• ABA-approved/paralegal certification or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and maintain legal documents and materials to support operations.
• Coordinate legal matters by organizing records, deadlines and document management.
• Support litigation, transactional and compliance activities and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with attorneys and stakeholders to communicate project status.
• Conduct legal and factual research and prepare summaries for inquiries, investigations and regulatory matters.
• Assist with implementation of legal initiatives and ethical standards.
