Base pay range

$63,093.33/yr - $81,120.00/yr

Employment Type: Full-Time, Entry Level

Department: Legal

As a CGS paralegal, you will work under the supervision of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor, providing litigation and administrative support to United States Attorneys.

Skills and attributes for success:
  • Examining, preparing, and processing legal documents such as complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, and subpoenas.
  • Assisting attorneys in trial preparations.
  • Assembling trial exhibits, affidavits, discovery materials, and other legal documents.
  • Organizing files and records for disposition or transfer.
  • Maintaining case calendars.
  • Tracking filing, hearing, and trial dates, and scheduling conferences and interviews.
  • Arranging travel, including preparing itineraries and reservations.
  • Producing written documents using office software.
Qualifications:
  • At least one year of specialized litigation experience; over three years preferred.
  • Experience reviewing legal documents, retrieving and assembling information for hearings or trials, researching legal sources, maintaining file systems, and using legal software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
