Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Paralegal / Legal Assistant role based in Houma, LA. The individual in this role will support attorneys in personal injury matters by organizing case files, drafting and proofreading legal documents and correspondence, and assisting with discovery, including document collection and review. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining calendars and deadlines, coordinating client communication, scheduling appointments, hearings, and depositions, and preparing materials for court filings and trials. The role also involves managing administrative duties such as data entry, file management (digital and physical), and documentation of case activity. The Paralegal / Legal Assistant works closely with attorneys, clients, and external parties to ensure accurate, timely, and professional support throughout each case.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of Law and personal injury practice areas, with the ability to apply legal concepts to case management.
• Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, and reviewing pleadings, motions, correspondence, and discovery responses.
• Strong Communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, courts, and other parties, both in writing and in person.
• Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, preferably a minimum of five years in personal injury or litigation-focused environments.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and cases simultaneously.
• Proficiency with common office software and legal practice tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, case management systems).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal setting.
