Job summary

Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC is seeking a Paralegal to support the Columbia Threadneedle Investments registered investment companies. Under the direction of an attorney, you will perform ongoing legal and regulatory activities related to 1940 Act filings and related disclosures.

The role involves coordinating input from business lines, outside counsel, and accountants, and may extend to investment advisory support, governance, and corporate matters within Asset Management Legal.

Qualifications

• Associates degree plus paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
• One to three years' relevant experience.
• Ability to interpret, analyze and apply legal requirements applicable to registered investment companies.
• Mature, professional demeanor.
• Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to successfully manage several ongoing assignments.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing and problem-solving skills.
• Dedicated team player.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the creation, updating, and filing of registration statement post-effective amendments containing prospectuses and statements of additional information (SAIs) and other disclosure documents required by the 1940 Act and related Acts.
• Solicits and coordinates input to disclosure documents from business lines, outside counsel and outside accountants.
• Provide legal and regulatory support for Columbia Threadneedle Investments' investment advisory business, including collective investment trusts, SEC compliance, and governance matters.
• Work closely with Asset Management Legal within the General Counsel's Organization and with various lines of business.
• Support Columbia Threadneedle Investments as part of a team of lawyers and paralegals.
