The Native American Rights Fund (NARF) in Boulder, CO, seeks a Paralegal to support tribal water and complex litigation matters across phases from pre-filing to appeals. You will manage documents, prepare pleadings, assist with discovery, and coordinate with attorneys and agencies in a hybrid work setting.

The role demands 4–5 years of relevant experience, excellent computer and research skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks under time constraints.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred.
• Minimum of four to five years of relevant, practical work experience, preferably at the federal court level.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe products; experience with litigation management software.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to communicate and follow instruction effectively from a diverse group of people.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize assignments, and occasionally work overtime on short notice.
• Familiarity with state and federal court filings, including ECF and other electronic filings.
• Ability to retrieve and distribute boxes or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, and reach up to 6 feet high.

Responsabilités

• Document management for large-scale hard copy and electronic files.
• Prepare, review, and analyze documents for production requests; create chronologies and charts.
• Assist with pleadings, motions, briefs and other documents for trial and appellate courts; manage service on parties in complex litigation.
• Handle discovery and trial support including organizing documents and preparing exhibits.
• Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw/Westcheck and other resources.
• Prepare meeting materials and presentations using Microsoft Office; coordinate with off-site vendors.
• Provide administrative support: calendaring, filing, expenses, mail distribution, and courier arrangements.
• Coordinate or provide support for programs (e.g., Law Clerk Program) with other departments.
• Serve in backup capacity for other staff duties.
