Job summary

The State of Washington Attorney General’s Office in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Paralegal 1 to support assistant attorneys general in juvenile dependency and related litigation. This permanent, full-time role is represented by the WFSE and offers a comprehensive benefits package and flexible scheduling/telework options.

The position requires three years of paraprofessional experience, paralegal certification or related degrees, and the ability to perform trial preparation and case management

Qualifications

Three years of paraprofessional experience in support of an attorney.
Paralegal certification is required.
Two-year paralegal degree is required.
Paralegal plus certification or nine-month paralegal, post BA is acceptable.

Responsibilities

Analyze facts
Compose documents and pleadings
Schedule and/or interview witnesses
Research legal issues and evaluate the facts
Coordinate the preparation for litigation
Track status of cases from summons to trial
Draft legal notices
