Job summary

Carta is seeking a Junior Paralegal to join the Funds team in the Americas under Carta Law. You will rotate across or specialize within one of three practice areas, supporting investor onboarding, KYC, and high-volume legal work with embedded AI agents.

As part of a fast-paced, professional team you will build commercial and legal expertise, aim for SQE qualification, and collaborate with lawyers and senior paralegals across multiple matters.

Responsibilities

• Prepare initial drafts of LP transfer documents (transfer agreements, consents, subscription agreements).

• Collaborate with lawyers and senior paralegals to deliver high-quality client service across fast-moving matters.
• Progress toward SQE via opportunity to take ownership of client accounts.

As a Junior Paralegal, you will rotate across or specialize within one of three practice areas depending on your strengths and interests.

• Prepare initial drafts of LP transfer documents (transfer agreements, consents, subscription agreements)
• Liaise with transfer parties on process and timings, and assist with execution workflows
• Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high‑quality client delivery across fast‑moving, high‑volume matters
• Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts and progress towards qualification via the SQE route

About You

• An undergraduate Law degree or equivalent is preferred. Prior exposure to LP Transfer processes is a plus but not required.

Salary

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full‑time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:

• $72,485 – $90,640 in Seattle (hourly rate of $34.85 – $43.58)
• $64,855 – $81,099 in New Jersey (hourly rate of $31.18 – $38.99)
• $76,300 – $95,410 in New York (hourly rate of $36.68 – $45.87)

*Annualized salary based on estimated 40 hour hours per week before overtime

We are hiring for multiple levels and locations, so final offers may vary from the amounts listed based on geography, experience and expertise, and other factors.
