Job summary

Carta is hiring a Funds Paralegal to support investor onboarding, transaction KYC, and high-volume legal work in a fast-paced environment. You will rotate across or specialize within one of three practice areas depending on your strengths and interests.

The role emphasizes eagerness to learn, organization, clear communication, and proactive problem solving, with opportunities to progress toward SQE and build expertise.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Law degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior exposure to LP Transfer processes is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare initial drafts of LP transfer documents (transfer agreements, consents, subscription agreements).
  • Liaise with transfer parties on process and timings, and assist with execution workflows.
  • Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, delivering high-quality client delivery across fast-moving matters.
  • Develop commercial and legal expertise over time with opportunities to progress toward SQE qualification.

The Team You'll Work With

You will be joining our Funds team in the America's under Carta Law. Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital, born from the combination of Avantia Law and Carta. Our lawyers and paralegals work alongside embedded AI agents to deliver investor onboarding, transaction KYC, and high-volume legal work with a speed and consistency that traditional law firms simply can’t match. As a Junior Paralegal, you will rotate across or specialize within one of three practice areas depending on your strengths and interests.

  • Prepare initial drafts of LP transfer documents (transfer agreements, consents, subscription agreements)
  • Liaise with transfer parties on process and timings, and assist with execution workflows
  • Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high‑quality client delivery across fast‑moving, high‑volume matters
  • Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts and progress towards qualification via the SQE route

Salary

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full‑time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:

  • $72,485 - $90,640 in Seattle (hourly rate of $34.85 - $43.58)
  • $64,855 - $81,099 in New Jersey (hourly rate of $31.18 - $38.99)
  • $76,300 - $95,410 in New York (hourly rate of $36.68 - $45.87)
  • $76,300 - $95,410 in New York (hourly rate of $36.68 - $45.87)

*Annualized salary based on estimated 40 hour hours per week before overtime
