Job summary

Carta seeks a Junior Paralegal to support lawyers with first-round markups of NDAs and commercial contracts. You will manage document lifecycles, track deadlines, and communicate with counterparties to aid timely execution.

You will collaborate with lawyers and senior paralegals, building commercial and legal expertise while progressing toward SQE qualification in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Equity is offered along with exceptional benefits.

Qualifications

• Support lawyers with first-round markups of investment-related NDAs and commercial contracts
• Manage document lifecycles, track deadlines, communicate with counterparties, and assist with execution
• Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high-quality client delivery across fast-moving, high-volume matters
• Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts and progress towards qualification via the SQE route

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent is preferred; prior exposure to NDAs or KYC processes is a plus but not required
• Eager to learn and grow. You are motivated, curious, and excited to develop expertise in legal practice – whether that is compliance, contracts, or funds
• Organised and efficient. You prioritize well, manage competing deadlines, and keep matters moving without losing attention to detail
• A strong communicator. You write and speak clearly and professionally, understanding that our clients expect crisp, concise advice

Compensation

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:

• $64,855 - $81,099 in Hamilton, NJ (hourly rate of $31.18 - $38.99)
• $$72,485 - $90,640 in Seattle, WA (hourly rate of $34.85 - $43.58)
• $61,040 - $76,328 in Sandy, UT (hourly rate of $38.92 - $45.78)

*Annualized salary based on estimated 40 hour hours per week before overtime
