Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Minimum 3 years of Personal Injury litigation experience.
• Experience supporting litigation from filing through trial and resolution.
• Expert knowledge of federal court procedures and e-filing.
• Experience with high-value cases (six to seven figures).
• Strong drafting, time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft petitions, motions, pleadings, and other legal documents with accuracy.
• Support attorneys from initial filing through trial and resolution.
• Assist with trial prep, including exhibits and witness materials.
• Maintain organized electronic case files and current documentation.
• Draft, review, and respond to discovery requests.
• Track court deadlines and milestones; ensure timely filings.
• Coordinate case documentation for hearings, depositions, and trial.
• Communicate with clients and staff throughout the litigation process.

Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a high-performing team of attorneys handling complex Personal Injury litigation, with a primary focus on commercial trucking and general negligence matters. This onsite contract opportunity offers the potential for extension and permanent hire for the right candidate. The Litigation Paralegal will play a critical role throughout the litigation process, supporting attorneys from case initiation through trial while managing discovery, drafting legal documents, maintaining client communication, and ensuring cases remain organized and on schedule. This role is ideal for an experienced legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable supporting high-value, complex litigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft petitions, motions, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from initial filing through trial and case resolution.
• Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness materials, and case documentation.
• Maintain accurate, organized electronic case files and ensure all documentation is current and accessible.
• Draft, review, and respond to discovery requests.
• Track court deadlines, filing requirements, and litigation milestones.
• Coordinate case documentation to ensure thorough preparation for hearings, depositions, mediation, and trial.
• Manage multiple active cases while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients, providing updates and responding to questions throughout the litigation process.
• Collaborate effectively with attorneys and legal support staff across multiple cases.
• Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism while supporting attorneys with varying work styles and priorities.
• Provide additional support during trial preparation and proceedings, including availability outside of standard business hours when necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, including significant experience with commercial trucking and general negligence cases.
• Minimum 3 years of Personal Injury litigation experience.
• Comprehensive experience supporting litigation from initial filing through trial and resolution.
• Expert knowledge of federal court procedures, electronic filing, and case management requirements.
• Experience supporting complex cases with values ranging from six to seven figures.
• Strong legal drafting experience, including petitions, motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday.
• Adaptable, resilient, and able to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment while supporting attorneys with diverse personalities and work styles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting high-volume Personal Injury litigation teams.
• Strong trial preparation experience.
• Experience managing complex commercial trucking litigation cases.
