Job summary

EnergyUnited is seeking a detail-driven Paralegal to support its Legal Department in a hybrid role. You will prepare and manage legal documents, support governance activities, assist with litigation workflows, and ensure compliance across various processes.

You will work closely with our General Counsel, internal teams, outside counsel, courts, and regulatory agencies to help EnergyUnited stay compliant and member-focused.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or two-year paralegal degree (preferred).
• 3+ years paralegal experience in corporate governance and litigation.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures and documentation.
• Proficiency in eCourts, MS Office, and familiarity with LexisNexis and AI tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Responsibilities

• Corporate Governance: Maintain records and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements; prepare bylaws, policies, minutes, and governing documents; assist with board presentations and oversight.
• Contract and Transaction Support: Maintain organized contract records; prepare drafts; review and ensure consistency; handle NDAs and confidentiality agreements for transactions and disputes.
• Litigation: Prepare and file pleadings and motions; conduct legal research; organize case files and calendars; coordinate depositions and trial prep.
• Other Responsibilities: Maintain filing systems; interact with internal teams, courts, regulators, and opposing counsel; provide administrative and substantive support to the General Counsel.
