Responsibilities

  • File documents with courts and government agencies, electronic or in person.
  • Schedule client meetings, depositions, hearings, and court appearances.

  • Conduct basic legal research under attorney supervision.
  • Assist with discovery by organizing documents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Paralegal Assistant to support attorneys and paralegals with administrative and legal tasks. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing legal documents, managing case files, conducting legal research, and maintaining effective communication with clients and court personnel. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals.
  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, contracts, and reports.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files.
  • File legal documents with courts and government agencies, both electronically and in person when necessary.
  • Schedule client meetings, depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors.
  • Conduct basic legal and factual research under attorney supervision.
  • Assist with discovery by organizing documents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal and client information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the legal team.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or certificate in Paralegal Studies is preferred but not required; equivalent education and experience considered.
  • Previous experience in a law office or legal environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn legal case management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
