Opportunity
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, a leading law firm, is hiring a Paralegal in its Litigation Department located in our Wilmington office (hybrid).
Responsibilities
- Provide support to litigation attorneys and business services professionals throughout all phases of litigation.
- Prepare court filings, pleadings, and other court documents; file electronically via File & ServeXpress and PACER CM/ECF.
- Assist with discovery, including subpoenas, requests and responses, and document production.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and other court‑related websites.
- Leverage litigation support databases (e.g., Relativity, PACER) to manage case data, generate reports, and support eDiscovery workflows.
- Organize and prepare documents for attorney review, including exhibits, chronologies, and court papers.
- Coordinate with legal technology and document management systems to track client data collection and create privilege logs.
- Mentor and train junior paralegals on best practices and technology use.
- Ensure all case files follow department‑approved protocols and seek workflow improvements.
- Maintain the integrity of client files and uphold confidentiality.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to navigate electronic databases and document management systems fluently.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, internet).
- Knowledge of relevant firm software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and a willingness to learn new systems.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Flexibility to travel and adjust hours as business needs require.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive matters.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least three years of paralegal or legal support experience, preferably in litigation or a comparable complex practice area.
Salary
Base salary range: $75,000 – $85,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and other job‑related factors.
