Job summary

Jobot in Tampa, FL, is seeking a paralegal for a fast-paced civil litigation practice focused on mesothelioma cases. The role supports attorneys from onset through trial, drafting pleadings, filing, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.

A paralegal degree/certificate and 3–5 years of experience are preferred. The firm offers fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer contributions, PTO, a firm-paid HSA, and related benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial.
• Draft pleadings, correspondence, authorizations, interrogatories, transmittal letters, and other legal documents.
• File summonses and complaints and coordinate service with vendors.
• Prepare discovery requests and responses.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions.
• Track and monitor client files and calendars, providing status updates.
• Perform extensive internal and online legal research on court rules and procedures.
• Assist with trial preparation, including trial binders, exhibits, and coordination with experts, opposing counsel, and court staff.

Job Details

Day to Day:

1. Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial;
2. Draft pleadings, correspondence, authorizations, interrogatories, transmittal letters, and other legal documents;
