Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Paralegal to support a national civil litigation firm handling mesothelioma cases. You will assist attorneys through all phases of litigation, draft pleadings, file and serve documents, prepare discovery, coordinate depositions, and manage client files and calendars.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of paralegal experience, a paralegal degree or certificate, and strong organization, communication, and research skills.

Qualifications

• Must have 3–5 years of paralegal experience.
• Paralegal degree or certificate required.
• Product liability or personal injury experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with deadlines.
• Detail oriented with the ability to analyze and problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial.
• Draft pleadings, correspondence, authorizations, interrogatories, transmittal letters, and other legal documents.
• File summonses and complaints, and work with vendors to effectuate service.
• Prepare discovery requests and responses.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions.
• Track and monitor client files, calendars, and provide status updates.
• Perform extensive internal and on-line legal research (court rules and procedures).
• Assist with trial preparation, including trial binders, exhibits, coordinate with experts, opposing counsel, and court staff.

Job Details
