Job summary

Express Employment Professionals in Springfield, IL is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join a growing Personal Injury team. You will handle client intake, organize medical records, and support attorneys through the legal process.

This position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, exposure to personal injury work, and opportunities to grow in a collaborative law firm environment. Salary is up to $60,000 per year, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous paralegal or legal assistant experience preferred.
• Personal injury experience is a plus, but not required.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client intake and gather information for new cases.
• Request, track, review, and organize medical records and billing documents.
• Maintain case files and ensure accurate documentation throughout the life of each case.
• Draft correspondence, legal documents, and reports.
• Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and other parties involved in cases.
• Assist attorneys with case preparation, deadlines, and administrative support.
• Monitor case progress and help ensure timely movement of files.
