Job summary

Wilson Elser is seeking a Paralegal for our San Francisco office. The role offers a flexible, hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to grow within a fast-paced defense litigation group.

The position requires 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience, strong Microsoft 365 skills, and excellent organizational and communication abilities. Paralegal certification and ABA accreditation are preferred, and Relativity experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Paralegal Certificate from ABA accredited program preferred
  • 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience
  • Experience preparing pleadings and discovery requests/responses, summarizing medical, employment, and military records, and supporting trial
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical
  • Clear and effective communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Must be able to work independently and be proactive
  • Experience with e-discovery and using Relativity or other document review platforms is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare records, review and prepare exhibits, analyze medical records, and trial preparation
  • Contact outside sources (government agencies, etc.) to obtain public information and review and analyze the same
  • Search and retrieve information from court-related databases as well as other online sources of case information
  • Prepare summary of pertinent transcripts
  • Assemble chronologies of pertinent facts and key documents
  • Review, analyze and organize document productions by opposing parties and co-defendants
  • Determine, prepare and organize materials needed for expert witness review
  • Conduct investigative research on opposing parties and expert witnesses
  • Manage documents and organize case files
  • Monitor and review third party eFile/eService databases
  • Other responsibilities as requested

The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated, self-starter to advance their paralegal career by developing an understanding of the anatomy of defense litigation through hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced litigation group.

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full‑time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Salary Range: $80,000 USD - $110,000 USD
