Defense Litigation Paralegal
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
Job Type: Contract (with potential for full-time employment based on performance)

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Defense Litigation Paralegal to support a fast-paced legal team handling New York insurance defense matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong litigation experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, high-volume environment.
This position begins with approximately 2-3 months of in-office training, followed by a hybrid schedule requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of pending litigation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and discovery responses.
- Coordinate and manage document productions in an organized and timely manner.
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to obtain documents and information for discovery.
- Analyze documents and prepare exhibit indexes.
- Conduct legal research and perform cite-checking of briefs.
- Prepare legal documents for filing and service.
- Monitor court deadlines and maintain litigation calendars.
- Initiate and manage legal holds using legal hold software.
- Maintain electronic document repositories and document review platforms.
- Electronically file documents through NYSCEF and PACER.
- Perform additional litigation support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of defense litigation paralegal experience.
- Strong experience in New York Insurance Defense Litigation.
- Thorough understanding of New York civil practice and litigation procedures.
- Experience drafting discovery requests, discovery responses, motions, and good-faith letters.
- Knowledge of CPLR deadlines, court rules, and filing requirements.
- Proficiency with NYSCEF, PACER, and electronic document management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Schedule
- Monday-Friday

Compensation And Benefits
- $35.00-$40.00 per hour, based on experience.
