Job summary

Cotton Holdings Inc. is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced corporate environment. You will support the Corporate Legal Group by managing lawsuits, arbitration matters, outside counsel, pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and timelines to resolve matters efficiently.

You will collaborate with internal teams to gather information for litigated matters, maintain calendars, and draft court documents, ensuring accuracy and timely filings across diverse jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in litigation.
• Experience handling high-volume litigation with responsibility for resolution.
• Experience with construction litigation and liens is strongly preferred.
• Solid grasp of the litigation process; strong negotiation and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct claim investigations with in-house and outside counsel on status and resolution of cases.
• Handle collection matters for the company with assistance from in-house counsel.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, responses, subpoenas, settlements, and all other legal pleadings and file in proper court or venue.
• Draft construction lien notices and lien affidavits for work performed.
• Collaborate with operations to acquire information for litigated matters.
• Track and report on spend, timeline and other data for litigated matters.
• Maintain a litigation calendar and organize case files.

This individual will work in an integrated team environment with other members of the Corporate Legal Group to facilitate the timely resolution of litigated matters.

What you’ll be Doing

• Conduct claim investigation and consult with attorneys (in-house and outside counsel) on status, progress and resolution of cases.
• Handle all aspects of collection matters for the company with assistance from in-house counsel.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, responses, subpoenas, settlements, and all other legal pleadings and file same with the proper court or venue.
• Draft construction lien notices and lien affidavits for work performed.
• Work with the operations team to acquire information for litigated matters.
• Track and report on spend, timeline and other data for litigated matters.
• Perform some administrative duties, including maintaining a litigation calendar and organizing case files.

What You Bring to the Table

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification is preferred

Experience

• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience required.
• Experience Prior litigation paralegal experience in a high volume litigation environment with direct responsibility for driving matters to a successful resolution.
• Experience with all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, demand letters, correspondence, subpoena responses and more.
• Strongly Preferred: experience with construction litigation, including liens and construction laws.
