Job summary

HHHunt seeks a Paralegal to join our legal team in Virginia, supporting real estate transactions, development, and contract administration. You will draft and organize real estate documents, review contracts, maintain a document repository, and prepare contract summaries to support development decisions.

You will manage key dates, deliverables, and obligations, conduct research, and coordinate with title companies, surveyors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Real Estate, Business, or related field preferred
  • Paralegal certification preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting real estate transactions, development, corporate, or contract administration
  • Experience in real estate development, land acquisition, or law firm support strongly preferred
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and summarize legal documents and contracts
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, particularly in document and deadline management
  • Demonstrated experience in legal drafting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced development environment
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with sound judgment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across cross‑functional teams
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Draft, revise, and organize real estate legal documents including purchase and sale agreements, amendments, corporate documents, letters, easements, and ancillary agreements
  • Review contracts and supporting documents for completeness, consistency, and alignment with approved terms and business objectives
  • Maintain repository of legal documents, ensuring version control, accessibility, and proper filing protocols
  • Prepare contract summaries and abstracts highlighting key business and legal terms
  • Conduct legal, regulatory, and property-related research to support development decisions
  • Establish and manage key dates, deliverables, and obligations for all development-related agreements
  • Track contingency periods, closing deadlines, zoning milestones, and expiration timelines
  • Support execution process for contracts, including coordination of signatures and document distribution
  • Generate and maintain reporting on contract status, risks, and upcoming deadlines
  • Maintain records of legal matters, including status updates and outcomes
  • Provide general administrative support to the Associate General Counsel and related teams
  • Review title commitments, title reports, exception documents, and related due diligence materials for development projects
  • Identify and summarize title exceptions, easements, covenants, restrictions, rights-of-way, access matters, and other encumbrances requiring legal or business review
  • Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, outside counsel, and internal stakeholders to resolve title and survey issues prior to acquisition, financing, or closing
  • Compare surveys against title commitments and project documents to confirm consistency of legal descriptions, access, easements, boundaries, and recorded matters

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The compensation range for Paralegal is $72,427-$90,534/yr based on experience and certifications. Overtime and bonus pay are also available. This position is eligible for HHHunt’s benefits to include, health insurance, vacation, sick leave and 401K.
