Job summary

Hawthorne Lane, a large global law firm with a Washington, DC office, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to support attorneys in all aspects of complex real estate transactions. You will review title and survey documents, identify property issues, coordinate with title companies and vendors, and prepare transaction-related documents with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze title commitments, surveys, and related real estate documents to identify exceptions, liens, easements, encumbrances, and site control issues.
  • Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, and vendors on title policies, surveys, document corrections, and technical issues; resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare title objection summaries, legal descriptions, and title/survey analysis materials for attorneys and clients.
  • Summarize key terms from real estate documents, including easements, leases, declarations, and reciprocal easement agreements.
  • Order, track, and review ALTA/NSPS surveys for accuracy and consistency with title documents.
  • Manage due diligence materials, document databases, reports and related records.

Key Responsibilities:

The salary listed reflects the anticipated compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, location, business considerations, and internal equity. Final offer amounts are determined at the employer’s discretion.
