As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal who can take an active role in managing cases, supporting the attorney, and helping deliver an exceptional experience for our clients.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the personal injury litigation process and can independently manage a variety of case-related responsibilities from intake through settlement or trial.
The ideal candidate has significant experience working in a personal injury law firm, is comfortable communicating directly with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and court personnel, and understands the importance of staying ahead of deadlines and proactively moving cases forward.
Candidates with significant litigation experience in other areas of law will also be considered, particularly those with experience managing cases, drafting pleadings and discovery, coordinating depositions and hearings, and supporting attorneys through trial. Because a significant portion of our clients are Spanish-speaking, fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
This is an in-office position based in Dallas, Texas.
Key Responsibilities -
Case Management:
- Manage and maintain an active caseload of personal injury matters from intake through settlement or trial.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic and physical case files.
- Monitor and manage important deadlines, including litigation, discovery, court, and case management deadlines.
- Proactively identify outstanding tasks and follow up with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, opposing counsel, and other parties as necessary.
- Assist with client intake, onboarding, and ongoing client communication.
Personal Injury and Pre-Litigation Support:
- Request, review, organize, and summarize medical records and medical bills.
- Request and obtain police reports, photographs, insurance information, and other supporting documentation.
- Communicate with medical providers and insurance companies regarding case-related information.
- Prepare demand packages and supporting documentation.
- Track treatment, damages, liens, and other information relevant to the client’s claim.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding the status of their cases.
Litigation Support:
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, motions, notices, and other case-related documents.
- Prepare and assist with Stowers demands and other time-sensitive settlement demands.
- Coordinate and assist with depositions, mediations, hearings, and other case events.
- Assist with discovery management, including gathering, organizing, and preparing documents and responses.
- Coordinate with opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and other parties as directed.
- Support the attorney with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witnesses, documents, timelines, and trial materials.
Client and Team Communication:
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients in both English and Spanish.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and compassionate point of contact for clients throughout the life of their cases.
- Keep the attorney informed of significant case developments, deadlines, settlement opportunities, and issues requiring legal attention.
- Work collaboratively with the attorney and other team members while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications -
Required:
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
- At least 3 years of experience as a paralegal or senior legal assistant, with substantial experience in personal injury law or another litigation-focused area of practice.
- Candidates without personal injury experience will be considered if they have meaningful experience supporting attorneys in litigation, including managing cases, drafting pleadings and discovery, coordinating depositions and hearings, and assisting with trial preparation.
- Demonstrated experience managing personal injury cases and supporting attorneys through both pre-litigation and litigation.
- Experience drafting legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, correspondence, and other litigation-related materials.
- Experience preparing or assisting with Stowers demands and other settlement demands.
- Strong understanding of the Texas personal injury litigation process and applicable court procedures.
- Experience requesting, reviewing, organizing, and summarizing medical records and bills.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience using legal case management software.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and proactively manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in-office at the firm’s Dallas location (Uptown/Oak Lawn).
Preferred:
- 5+ years of personal injury paralegal experience.
- Experience handling catastrophic injury, commercial vehicle, wrongful death, or complex personal injury cases.
- Familiarity with case management software such as Filevine, Clio, MyCase, or similar platforms.
- Experience assisting with trial preparation and trial support.
- Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree.
- Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
