Berman Law Group | Boca Raton, Florida
About the Position
Berman Law Group is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Paralegal to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their cases, anticipates what needs to be done, and understands how to move a personal injury claim efficiently from intake through settlement.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and capable of independently managing competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to each client's case.
We are not looking for someone who simply completes assigned tasks. We are looking for someone who identifies what needs to be done and takes the initiative to get it done.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Organization
- Independently manage a high-volume personal injury caseload from intake through settlement and disbursement.
- Conduct regular, comprehensive case audits to identify outstanding records, treatment delays, missing documentation, and other obstacles to settlement.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and current case files in Filevine.
- Proactively manage deadlines, follow-up tasks, and case progression without requiring constant attorney oversight.
- Identify and upscale in issues involving liability, coverage, treatment gaps, and potential statute of limitations concerns.
Medical Treatment & Demand Preparation
- Monitor clients' medical treatment, including chiropractic care, MRIs, orthopedic consultations, pain management, injections, and surgical recommendations.
- Obtain and review medical records, diagnostic reports, medical bills, and treatment recommendations.
- Ensure necessary medical documentation is received and properly organized before cases are submitted for demand.
- Recognize when a case is ready for demand and promptly address anything preventing its progression.
- Prepare thorough, accurate, and persuasive initial and supplemental demand packages.
- Track outstanding medical records and bills and maintain consistent follow-up with medical providers.
Insurance & Settlement Coordination
- Communicate professionally and effectively with insurance adjusters regarding claim status, outstanding documentation, and settlement evaluations.
- Track demand submissions, response deadlines, settlement offers, and outstanding negotiations.
- Assist attorneys with insurance coverage investigations, policy documentation, and case evaluations.
- Coordinate lien verification, medical bill negotiations, settlement documentation, and disbursement preparation.
Client Communication
- Maintain consistent, proactive communication with clients regarding treatment, case progression, and settlement expectations.
- Promptly address client concerns while ensuring they remain informed throughout the process.
- Coordinate appointments, referrals, and outstanding treatment needs.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and confidence when communicating with clients, medical providers, and insurance representatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of personal injury pre-litigation experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of the personal injury claims process, including medical treatment, demand preparation, insurance coverage, and settlement procedures.
- Experience managing a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize independently, anticipate attorney needs, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with legal case management software; Filevine experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with Florida personal injury claims, including PIP, BI, and UM/UIM, strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working in a results-driven environment with clear expectations for productivity and accountability.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
The right candidate understands that successful case management is not simply keeping a file organized. It is actively moving that file toward resolution.
You should know which clients need follow-up, which medical records are outstanding, which cases are ready for demand, and which issues require attorney attention.
You should be comfortable taking initiative, solving problems independently, and maintaining a high standard of work even when managing a demanding caseload.
We value accountability, efficiency, communication, and follow-through.
