Description: Paraeducator

This position is for the 2026-2027 school year, starting August 24th 2026.

Hours/day: 6.5 hours/day M-F
Job Summary:

The Paraeducator is a district employee who is primarily engaged in direct interaction with one or more pupils for activities according to district-approved curriculum and teacher-approved plan for the student, physical or behavior management, inclusion or other activities.

Minimum qualifications include:
  • Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the Minnesota Department of Education, Fridley Public Schools must meet highly qualified requirements. Therefore, upon hire, all hires must be Highly Qualified - Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
    • Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesota's standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
    • An Associate's (or higher) degree; Minnesota's standard: An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree
    • Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

$24.50- $28.00 per hour depending on previous para experience- per the master agreement:
