Job summary

The Lourie Center School, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks a Paraeducator to support students with special needs. Under teacher supervision, you will provide individualized instruction, assist in class and therapy sessions, and help track progress toward academic and social-emotional goals.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of relevant experience, familiarity with child development, and an active BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of cumulative work experience with special needs students.
• Familiarity with student development is required.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience with special needs students in grades K-5th preferred.

Responsibilities

• As a Paraeducator you will work under the supervision of the classroom teacher to provide individual instruction.
• Support assigned student during class activities and in therapy sessions.
• Help progress toward academic and social-emotional goals.
• Observe and record data on behavior with the therapeutic team.
• Implement accommodations and supports from the student’s IEP.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and school staff meetings.
