Job summary

Boulder Valley School District is seeking a Paraeducator-Special Education for Superior Elementary. The role supports students with intensive needs across regular and special education classes, including health, behavioral, and academic supports.

Responsibilities include assisting with IEP goals, crisis management, and collaboration with case managers and teachers. Requires English proficiency, a high school diploma, and ability to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completed and submitted BVSD online application.
• Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds; diaper, feed; complete other delegated nursing and health care duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to special education students in the regular and special education classrooms.
• Supports may include adapting work, monitoring and enforcing behavior, implementing health care plans, toileting assistance, academic support.
• Assist children in cafeteria, at recess, in labs or during field trips and on bus.
• Assist in crisis situations, including restraining and documenting.
• Maintain student confidentiality and collaborate with teachers on IEPs and progress.
