Job summary

Ro Health is seeking a paraeducator for Paramount Unified School District in Paramount, CA. The position supports students with special needs in classrooms, either 1:1 or in a general capacity, on a per diem/subbing basis with full-time potential for the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities include assisting students to stay on task, communicating clearly with staff and students, and lifting up to 40 pounds as needed. Perks include PTO, benefits, and 401K options. The rate is $19–$21 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent education or higher.
• Strong assessment skills demonstrated.
• Willingness to assist students’ learning processes.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Inclination to work well in a team environment.
• Preferred: experience in schools; experience with individuals with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Support 1:1 or general classroom interventions to help students stay on task and work toward goals.
• Maintain calm, clear, and concise communication with students and adults.
• Demonstrate ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods.
• Assist with activities requiring bending, crouching, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Provide toileting assistance as needed.

Overview

• In-person

• Schedule: Per Diem/Subbing. Full-Time
• $19-21/hr
• 2026-2027 School Year

Responsibilities

• Providing support either in a 1:1 or general capacity:
  • As a 1:1 support: you would be going to each class with your student to provide behavioral and educational support throughout the day. 1:1 supporters are responsible to ensure their student is on task and working towards their goals.
  • General classroom supports: providers who are assigned to work with a single teacher or classroom. In this role, providers will support wherever they are needed most by the teacher. Typically every day looks different in this position, and you may be working with several different students throughout your day.
• Calm, clear, and concise communication with both children and adults
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
• Potential need to frequently bend, crouch, and lift (up to 40 pounds)
• Potential toileting assistance

Qualifications

• Associates Degree and/or High School Diploma and the equivalent to Associates Degree college credits
