White Bear Lake Area Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional/ Early Childhood Assistant at Birch Lake Elementary in White Bear Lake, MN. The role assists teachers by working with students in the whole class, small groups, or individually, with a 9:00am–2:30pm schedule totaling 27.5 hours per week.

Position Summary:
Performs intermediate human support work assisting classroom teachers by working with students in the whole group, in small groups or individually and related work as apparent or assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with children
Associates/Technical degree preferred.
Experience supporting students with special education needs
Experience organizing and managing special education paperwork
Special Requirements:
Must hold AA/AS degree, completed 60 semester credits, approved competency portfolio or pass MN Parapro test
Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire.
Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 6-12 months upon hire as needed for program.
Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota.
