Job summary

White Bear Lake Area Schools seeks a Paraprofessional/Early Childhood Assistant to support preschool students under the supervision of teachers. Responsibilities include assisting in whole-group, small-group, and one-on-one settings, and helping with special education paperwork and classroom tasks.

Required: high school diploma or GED; 60 credits or AA/AS; experience with children and special education; valid Minnesota driver 's license; training in Blood Borne Pathogens and CPI within 6–12

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and support for students with special education needs.
• AA/AS degree completed, 60 semester credits, or pass MN Parapro test.
• Training in Blood Borne Pathogens and CPI within 6–12 months; valid Minnesota driver's license.

Position Summary:
Performs intermediate human support work assisting classroom teachers by working with students in the whole group, in small groups or individually and related work as apparent or assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with children
Associates/Technical degree preferred.
Experience supporting students with special education needs
Experience organizing and managing special education paperwork
Special Requirements:
Must hold AA/AS degree, completed 60 semester credits, approved competency portfolio or pass MN Parapro test
Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire.
Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 6-12 months upon hire as needed for program.
Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota.
