Job summary

Freedom Elementary School in Colorado Springs is seeking a Paraeducator I to support students with Special Education needs under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role is 0.88 FTE (184 days/year) and follows the ESP Salary Schedule.

Starting date is immediate; the position is non-exempt and reports to the principal. Salary details are based on the 2025-2026 ESP Salary Schedule. Knowledge of disabilities and the ability to work cooperatively with others are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of modern office practices and operation of standard office equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with children with disabilities.
• Ability to relate well with children and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Works under the direction of a certified teacher to provide instructional support to students.
• Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and upholds school rules.
• Demonstrates punctuality, good attendance and attitude.
• Develops professional working relations with District staff.
• Assists with toileting and personal hygiene care as needed.
• Provide documentation for Medicaid reimbursement.
