Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking an English Language Development Paraeducator Assistant I to support EL students under the EL teacher’s guidance. The role involves developing and maintaining records and instructional materials, and providing individual or small-group language instruction to build academic language and access to grade-level content.

Under supervision, you will adapt activities, monitor progress, collaborate with staff, and assist newcomers.

Qualifications

• HQ requires HQ status and relevant education/credentials.
• At least 48 semester hours or an associate's degree or higher.
• May qualify with ParaPro score of 460 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist EL students with language development and core concepts.
• Develop and maintain instructional materials and records.
• Provide individual or small-group support under EL teacher supervision.
• Support classroom activities and adapt lessons to language needs.
